Longleaf Golf and Family Club again played host to this year’s championship.  Zabe has had some great success at Longleaf in the past with a win there in 2020, and a 2nd place finish last year… so there were some pretty high hopes leading into the event.  Day one, of the 2-day event, finished with Zabe in 2nd place alone, shooting a solid round of 2 under par (70) and 1 stroke behind the leader.  Zabe started hot on day 2 with a birdie on the first hole, and sent a strong message to the field that he would be tough to beat.  The back 9 was a dogfight with his fellow competitors until the 15th hole when Zabe caught fire, making birdies on 3 of the last four holes.  Zabe finished the day with a 4 under par round of 68, and a 2-day total of 138 (6 under par!)  Big congrats to Zabe on his 2nd Carolinas States victory.

In Order: John John Santospago (2nd), Zabe Shores (1st) and Andrew Hobb (3rd)
